The Marine Resources group had their first meeting of the year in Bergen, 10-11 January, by kind invitation of Hordaland Fylkeskommune. The main focus of the meeting was the Norwegian practice on discard ban, with presentations from Geir Blom, Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries, and Knut Korsbrekke, Institute of Marine Research. The group also discussed their application for a workshop during the European Maritime Day 2017 (Poole, UK).

The second day the group visited Scalpro AS, the only scallop hatchery in Norway, and Labrus Kollsnes, Wrasse cleaner fish production.
